ABOUT TWINS HEALING CENTER

Twins Healing Center to Enhance the local mental health system

  • Twins Healing Center is committed to providing high quality services to the East African community in Minnesota.
  • Staff will mainly be hired either from the East African community itself, or have extensive experience working with the East African community. 
  • Providing unique training for staff to act as a bridge between East African clients and Western professionals to ensure that cultural barriers are eliminated or minimized wherever possible. 
  • Working with clients who are otherwise limited by cultural and language barriers to identify and access the larger community Minnesota has to offer.
  • Ensuring that East African Elders who have limited ability to understand or advocate for their situation are not being lost in the bureaucracy of western social services.
  • This company is focused on providing services in the counties of Hennepin, Scott, Ramsey, Anoka, Dakota, Rice, Stearns, Kandiyohi, and Olmsted.

Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services
  • Basic living and social skills
  • Certified peer specialist services
  • Community intervention
  • Functional assessment
  • Individual treatment plan
  • Medication education
  • Transition to community living services

COLLABORATES

  • Coordination with other service providers will be provided upon the request of the client and their provision of a signed release that explicitly details the frequency, manner and form of coordination desired.
  • When requested and approved by the client, collaboration with other providers may include but is not limited to:

    • Collaboration on assessments and exchange of information to obtain better descriptions of symptoms and more accurate diagnoses

    • Exchange and review of treatment plans to ensure there is no duplication of services or that contradictory information is being provided to the client.

    • Ongoing observations of the client’s diagnosis, symptoms, compliance with treatments, and progress on outcomes.

    • Other incidental communication as is required to provide the client with the best possible service and eliminate duplication of services.

  • In the event of an emergency, the client’s crisis plan will have contact information for other service providers who should be included in the situation.

  • Emergency and local crisis resources will be utilized as needed.
